| Randolph Heights Teacher Pilots New Math "Investigation Centers" |  |  | | First grader students learn Algebra concepts by investigating Ice cream cone patterns | Lynn Meixell, gifted specialist at Randolph Heights Elementary School, has been piloting new math enrichment investigations she and other district teachers created during the summer. Gifted specialists were matched with grade level math teachers to create integrated, open ended, high level math investigations for students in grades K-6.
Each team developed  | | Randolph Heights students interact and collaborate to investigate Algebraic concepts | investigations within one of four strands of the math curriculum: Algebra, Geometry, Number Sense, and Measurement. Within each strand investigations were created that integrate math with science, social studies, writing, building, logic, literature and problem solving. The teams created over 200 investigations that were made available to all district staff  | | Students learn concepts while exploring open ended investigations | in March.
