| American Indian Magnet students publish "Native Pride" |  |  | | Students create original cartoons for "ative Pride" | At first glance publishing a school newsletter may seem like a simple task, but one of the goals of education in Saint Paul is to have students practice like a real life professional and explore their interests in unique ways. One of the editors of the American Indian Magnet school Native Pride newsletter describes the process:
“We get article ideas from things we want to know more about, what’s going on in school, a favorite  | | Students apply technology to create "Native Pride" | book, movie or a person we want to interview. These are our ideas. We come up with the questions, research the information and scan, copy, or take the photos ourselves. Then we type the information onto the computer, do spell check and edit our work. Finally, Ms. Mahoney does the layout, makes the copies and we deliver them.”
